Day 12
Working my way up to Portland from just outside of Portsmouth, I had the opportunity to ride the beautiful back roads with an absolutely glorious sunrise to push me along my way. I took a moment to take this photograph and reflect on what a profound and inspiring trip this has been. The Farmers, the market personnel, the folks that run the food pantry's, the entrepenuers, the citizens that just want to eat healthy and have fair access to fresh produce,... The list goes on and on. I have truly been touched, and for that I am eternally grateful.
Like all trips on a bike, finding time to actually write and share my thoughts often takes a back seat to pedaling, image dumping, eating and rest. I find that for me, taking time after the trip to reflect and share my words just works better than trying to off load what I am thinking and experiencing right in the moment.
Instagram has proven to be the exception for me this time as it has allowed me to share several images a day along with a few brief words -- the perfect balance for my time management. Be sure and like me on Instagram so you can follow along with those brief snippets.
We are deep in Maine now, such a beautiful state, especially this time of year. The weather has been perfect and I am excited to continue the push. The Augusta farm market on Tuesday and then some great farms on Wednesday before returning back to Portland. Stay tuned, so much more to come.
