Happy 2010

I have to admit, I have been thinking long and hard about what I should say for my first official post of 2010. Unfortunately, I have this stream of 'STUFF' that just wants to come out all at once, making it incredibly difficult to think of exactly what to say.  I have all of these grand thoughts of thankfulness about my life and loved ones.  Those family and friends that so lovingly supported me this past year when I decided to jump off the roof, and lead this vagabond life. I could write a long and deep post simply addressing these people and the amazing things they did for me in 2009.

Then there are those people that I have met along the way. Strangers that either stepped up to help a lone traveler or those that became life long friends from the moment we met.  There is the whole cast and crew from the Inside Passage; Bartlett Cove; Seattle; and the San Juan Islands.  They changed my life in more ways than I could ever describe.  Of course, no thank you or remembrance would be complete without mentioning the Universe.  How it just jumped in there big time and taught me to believe again, to SEE the world again, to live in nothing more than the NOW, and to simply breathe.

Then there is 2010 and what it holds.  New adventures beginning in 3 weeks.  New people to meet.  New personal, physical, and spiritual growth to experience.  I want to write about it all and share it all and who knows, maybe make a little difference in the lives of others.

Then there is Love, that simple 4 letter word that means so much.  Love of the NOW and the simplicity of life that grows from just living a life in the NOW.  Oh, to write about the profound impact on my life from choosing a new path made soley of simplicity and LOVE.  So much to write about; so many thoughts bursting at the seem.

People that know me, well they know I am a rehabilitating GEEK.  I do love gadgets and love talking about them.  So much to talk about on that front, because the cold hard truth is that some of these things do make our lives simpler and better.  Of course, like anything, your lust for Gadgets/Things can become an issue, but that is not what I am talking about.  Life on the road requires one to embrace certain gadgets for safety and communication and if nothing else because you are essentially carrying all of your possesions with you.  I hope that by writing about these and my experiences with them I can help others make wiser choices and better decisions on the gear and gadgets they take on the road.

I want to write about these things and more.  I mean if I could magically spew it out, this first post would be 20 or 30 separate posts, on all of the things crossing my mind these days.  Instead, I  give you this rambling start, a sign of what is to come.

In 3 weeks, 3 days, 21 hours and 1 minute, I begin the next journey in my Odyssey.  I start in Key West and head to Quebec City.  Well over 3300 miles and most likely the better part 6-8 or more months.  I will have time to reflect on much and share with all of you my thoughts on life.  My thoughts on the coast of North America and the stress it is under.  I hope that my words and images serve to inspire you to ACTION.  Maybe they will serve to reinforce your love for the natural world.  It could be that you are inspired to become involved in the environment?  What about Global Warming and the profound affect we are having on the planet, will you step up and be a voice heard? Politics aside, the scientfic evidence regarding the erosion of the atmosphere and the melting of the Glaciers is incontrovertable!  You don't have to take a side on 'why' this is happening, but we all live here on this beautiful planet called Earth, and as best we know, we only get one go around.  Can't we take care of the place that gives us life?

Is it possible that you are overworked and under-loved; it is possible  that you have forgotten that YOU control this and it is never to late to make your life the life you want. No matter what your age or what your life situation is, you have the power to make the changes that you need to make.   I love this quote in one of the CWG books, it goes like this:

"Do not allow your life to represent anything but the grandest vision of the greatest vision you ever had about who you are" - Neal Donald Walsch

Those are such powerful words with meanings unique to each individual that reads them.  To me, the message is simple.  We each have the ability to define who we are and we each have the ability to turn that vision into reality.  The path lies in the NOW.

I leave with this parting thought.  I love you all.  I could not do what I do without the love, support and friendship of those that I meet along the way.  I so look forward to meeting those that I have not yet met as much as I look forward to continuing on with those of you already here.  So, let the journey continue.  May 2010 bring you all that you wish and desire.  Simply make it so, MOMENT by MOMENT.  Nothing more and nothing less.

Peace & Love
